She continues to live at Izumo Inn with her other Sekirei, finally reuniting with Musou. In the year that follows, Minako finally passes the entrance examination to the university, has a part-time job at MBI (now run by his mother Takami in Minaka's absence) and is determined to learn as much about Sekirei as she can in order to "destroy this system binding these Sekirei and remove the leash on these boys." In Sekirei - 365 Days Without Him, she states her intention to finish college in possibly two years and one day "take over MBI". After the final battle, Musou becomes the new Guardian of Kouten and Minako must return without him. She and Musou journey to Kouten to fight Miyu for the prize the rest of her Sekirei join their life-forces with Musou, enabling Musou to defeat Miyu. During the final stage, Minako is the Ashikabi representing them in the final match on Kouten to save all Sekirei and their Ashikabi. By the end of the Third Stage, Minako is seen with some advantages against the other remaining contestants as she is the only Ashikabi with two Jinki in her possession, one having been stolen by Matsuri and the other won in battle, and for having winged the most single-numbered Sekirei, totaling four (not including Musou who inherited the powers of Yugo, another single number), while receiving guidance from Matsuri and Miyu (who, despite not participating in the Sekirei Fight, is known as the strongest Sekirei of all). Many individuals think that Minako is somehow the key to foiling MBI's ultimate plans for the Sekirei.

Because of this (and as a result of her living at the "Northern Hannya"'s location and therefore being seen as "allied" with him), she received the title "Northern Ashikabi", with few using her given name as a result of Minako being falsely described as an Ashikabi with a "shady" background.

Musou, Kuma and Matsuri were winged in the game's "First Stage", and Tsukune, Kazuharu and Kagari were winged in the "Second Stage", earning her recognition as the strongest Ashikabi in the northern part of the city. Minako has "winged" six Sekirei, each of whom physically reacted to her prior to winging, with the first five choosing he as their Ashikabi. It is later revealed that Hiroto Minaka, MBI's director and CEO, is Minato's father. Although many of her Ashikabi peers consider these actions cowardly, Minako finds that these traits endear her Sekirei to her even more. She often places herself in danger to protect hers Sekirei from harm and avoids situations that pose a high risk of danger to prevent her Sekirei from fighting needlessly. Originally she has a passive and somewhat cowardly personality, but over time, due to the kindness, trust and love of her Sekirei and her desire to protect them, she becomes more confident. Over the course of the story, she "wings" several Sekirei and they share a residence in Izumo Inn where she has her own room. After meeting Musou at the start of the series, she becomes an Ashikabi. Minako's known family consists of: her mother Takami, her grandmother (whom Minato's mother stated could live another 100 years) and her younger sister Yukinari.
